At almost 1,500 metres above sea level, you'll find countless ways to enjoy an active summer holiday in the Tyrolean mountains.
It's no coincidence that the Navistal is also known as the “Valley of Alpine Pastures”. Numerous hiking trails lead from one mountain hut to the next, where delicious regional specialities await.
Hiking holidays in Navis
From Das Eppensteiner, the Tyrolean mountains are right on your doorstep. Numerous hiking trails and mountain routes in the Wipptal begin just outside the front door, taking you to the Naviser Almenrunde, the Naviser Kreuzjöchl and the Naviser Sonnenspitze. The Naviser Hütte can also be reached on foot in around an hour. The idyllic lake Obernberger See is another wonderful destination for a day out in nature. We also provide walking poles and hiking backpacks free of charge, so you'll have everything you need for a great day in the mountains.
Cycling holidays in the Wipptal
If you prefer exploring the Tyrolean mountains on two wheels, the Wipptal offers endless possibilities. The Wipptal Cycle Route is perfect for leisurely bike rides and e-bike tours, while varied mountain bike trails, scenic forest tracks and challenging single trails offer something for more ambitious riders. One of the most popular routes is the Naviser Almenrunde, with its welcoming mountain huts. After your ride, you can conveniently recharge your e-bike in our bike storage room.
E-bike hire
There's no need to bring your own bike. E-bikes and mountain bikes can be hired from the bike rental service in Navis with advance telephone booking. Bikes can be collected between 8:00 am and 9:00 am and must be returned before nightfall.
Family summer holidays
Spending quality time together is what makes a family holiday so special. Around Das Eppensteiner, numerous attractions await visitors of all ages, including playgrounds, the Bärenbachl Water & Adventure World, the Kraftsee in Matrei and the Energy Playground in Trins. Our spacious garden is also a great place for children to play, while the Kneipp pool at the Schranzberg car park offers welcome refreshment on warm summer days.

Yes, you will receive the complimentary Wipptal Card (Wipptal Guest Card) from us on arrival. It offers a range of benefits, including free travel on public transport throughout the Wipptal Valley as well as discounts on mountain lifts and leisure activities.
Is the Wipptal Card valid for my journey to the accommodation?
Yes, the Wipptal Card is valid from the moment you set off from Innsbruck or the Brenner Pass. Please contact us before your arrival so that we can send you the guest card in good time.
What leisure activities does the region offer in summer?
The Navis Valley and the surrounding Wipptal region offer a wide range of activities during the summer months. Popular options include hiking the Navis Alpine Pasture Trail (Naviser Almenrunde), excursions to the Naviser Kreuzjöchl and Naviser Sonnenspitze, as well as (e-)mountain biking along varied routes and single trails. The Navis Fitness Trail also offers the chance to take part in sporting activities in the great outdoors.
It’s also well worth taking a trip to the Bärenbachl Water and Adventure Park, Lake Obernberg or the various themed and adventure playgrounds in the region. The Navis Valley is also home to eight traditional mountain huts, where you can combine scenic walks with regional specialities and magnificent mountain views.

The nearest mountain lift is the Bergeralm lift in Steinach am Brenner, approximately 12 km from the accommodation.
Are there hiking trails directly from the accommodation?
Yes, numerous hiking trails begin right on the doorstep. From Eppensteiner Apartments & Holiday Home, you can set off for the Navis Alpine Pasture Trail (Naviser Almenrunde), the Naviser Kreuzjöchl or the Naviser Sonnenspitze. The Navis Fitness Trail also passes close to the accommodation. Naviser Hütte mountain hut can be reached on foot in around 60 minutes.
Are there any cycling or mountain biking routes nearby?
Yes, the region offers an extensive network of cycling and mountain biking trails. The Naviser Almenrunde is particularly popular, as it passes several mountain huts where food and drink are served. Navis also offers challenging single trails and varied mountain bike routes along forest tracks and through alpine terrain, many of which are ideal for e-bikes.
Is there a bicycle hire service near the accommodation?
Yes, mountain bikes and e-bikes can be hired from the Navis E-Bike Hire Centre by telephone reservation. Bikes can be collected between 8:00 am and 9:00 am and must be returned before nightfall.
Is there a bicycle storage room?
Yes, guests have access to a lockable bicycle storage room. Please note that the holiday home does not have its own bicycle storage facility.
Are there facilities for charging e-bikes?
